2015 Emmy Awards: Top 5 Moments
— -- The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards show was one to remember.
From Andy Samberg's big night as host to some surprising wins, including "Mad Men's" Jon Hamm, the biggest night in TV was a night for the medium's biggest and brightest stars. The Emmys saved the best moment for last though, as the show welcomed Tracy Morgan back to the stage following a year of recovery from last year's accident that left him in a coma for eight days.
Here are the top 5 moments:
1. -- Andy All Night
Andy Samberg came out swinging and didn't stop all night. From jokes about Bill Cosby to his hilarious opening sketch, Samberg had the audience in stitches.
"This is the most diverse group of nominees in Emmy history, so congratulations Hollywood, ya did it!" Samberg said. "Racism is over! ... Don't fact-check that."
Some of the jokes are ones not safe to repeat at work, but others were jabs at this year's news that came fast and took a minute to get, but were witty and hilarious.
While welcoming Emmy winner Viola Davis to the stage, he joked that she would be joined by another person who knows "How to Get Away With Murder," Robert Durst from "The Jinx."
2. -- Jon Stewart and Jon Hamm's Farewell Wins
Both Stewart and Hamm won big at the Emmys and both gave great speeches about closing their runs on their respective shows.
"There has been a terrible mistake, clearly," said Hamm. "It's impossible to have done this show with this incredible cast... It's incredible and impossible ... for me to be standing here."
Stewart was all jokes as he said, "To everybody on TV, cling to it as long as you can, like death ... I've been off for 6 or 7 weeks, this is the first applause I've heard [in weeks]."
3. -- Viola Davis and Other Inspiring Speeches
Davis took home the award for Lead Actress in a Drama for her work on "How to Get Away With Murder" and followed with a speech for the ages.
"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity," Davis said. "You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there... To the Kerry Washingtons, Taraji P. Hensons, Meagan Goods ... thank you pushing us over that line."
"Orange is the New Black's" Uzo Aduba also gave an impassioned speech, fighting back the tears but making her sister, sitting in the audience, cry as well in the end. Aduba won for the second year for her role as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren.
4. -- Spoiler Reel and Free HBO, for Real
The show had two mini moments that went viral during the night. First Samberg gave away his login for HBO Now and it actually worked for a few minutes. Then, the show played a spoiler reel that literally gave away the endings to some of the decade's most thrilling series like, "Parenthood," "Sons of Anarchy" and "Boardwalk Empire."
People were freaking out on social media that the show just ruined everything for them.
5. -- Tracy Morgan Is Back
For the first time since his serious accident in June 2014, Tracy Morgan took the stage at the 2015 Emmy Awards.
"Thanks to my amazing doctors, the support of my family ... I'm here, standing on my own two feet," Morgan, 46, said, following a standing ovation.
The comedian then addressed his long road back and added in some comedy. Morgan was back where he belongs, making the world laugh again.
