Alex Trebek Suffers Minor Heart Attack

ByGood Morning America

Dec. 11, 2007 — -- "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek has suffered a minor heart attack, a publicist for the syndicated game show told ABC News.

"He is resting comfortably in a Los Angeles hospital, and he will be back in the studio for the next scheduled tapings in January," the show's publicist Jeff Ritter said in a statement.

Trebek, 67, has served as the host for the popular game show since September 1984. In 2004, the Canadian-born host narrowly escaped major injury when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel of his pickup truck, drifted off the road and crashed into a ditch.
