— -- As Alec Baldwin took the stage to accept the Emmy for his portrayal of President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live," the actor quipped, "at long last, Mr. President, here is your Emmy."

Trump was nominated for an Emmy multiple times for “The Apprentice,” but never won, and fumed about it publicly. In 2012, Trump tweeted, "The Emmys are all politics, that's why, despite nominations, “The Apprentice” never won -- even though it should have many times over."

Then in 2013, Trump tweeted, "According to many, and while nominated, I would have won the Emmy many times except for my politics."

Baldwin -- who takes home a statue tonight for best supporting actor in a comedy series after a season full of Trump impressions on the show -- then moved away from the subject of the president in his acceptance speech. Instead, he encouraged artists who make movies and television shows to continue creating, saying that their work is important.
