Ariana Grande has unveiled a fundraiser aimed at helping those impacted by what she called "disgraceful bills" targeting transgender youth.

The pop star announced the initiative, dubbed the Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund, via her social media on Thursday to mark Transgender Day of Visibility.

"Right now, there are hundreds of bills pending in state legislatures across the United States that target trans youth and aim to curb their rights," Grande wrote on the fundraiser's page. "The impact of fighting these anti-trans bills and policies is felt all year by trans people, their families and loved ones."

The two-time Grammy winner explained that the funds "will provide critical funds to organizations providing direct services to trans youth and advocating for the rights of trans youth in states currently targeted by anti-trans policies."

While the fund has amassed more than $440,000, Grande has pledged to match the donations up to $1.5 million.
