Ali Fedotowsky shared the heartbreaking news that she recently suffered a miscarriage.

The former lead of ABC's "The Bachelorette," opened up about the personal moment in a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday. "I am 1 in 4," she wrote. "I don’t really know what to say here...I had a miscarriage recently,"

Accompanying the post was a photo of a light pink bouquet of roses and an image "sending love to those who have suffered" different types of loss both during and after pregnancy.

Fedotowsky described her emotions in her post and expressed why she wanted to open up about her miscarriage. "I’m not sharing this bc I feel sorry for myself or I want others to tell me they feel sorry for me," she wrote. "I don’t feel sorry for myself. I feel sad for what could’ve been. Sad for the baby that was growing inside me. Sad because it’s sad."
