Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana has called off a second show following a medical incident on Tuesday.

The Santana frontman postponed his show scheduled for Wednesday night at the Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land, Texas, according to a representative.

In a statement shared by the artist's rep on Wednesday, Santana has "tested positive for COVID and is resting at his hotel."

The statement continued, "As some of you are aware, we postponed last night’s show in San Antonio. Unfortunately, out of an abundance of caution, the decision was made to also postpone this evening's show in Sugar Land. Carlos experienced dehydration yesterday, and has since tested positive for Covid."

"I am happy to report that Carlos is doing well and will be back on his US Tour this Friday in Thackerville, OK," the statement went on. "We appreciate everyone’s well wishes and concern. Carlos is looking forward to seeing you all very soon."

On Tuesday, Santana was set to play a concert in San Antonio, Texas, when he suffered a dehydration event, according to the rep.

"It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight's show in San Antonio has been postponed," the representative said in a statement that day.

"Mr. Santana was at the venue (Majestic Theatre) preparing for tonight's show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration. Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action."

The representative added that Santana was "doing well and is looking forward to coming back to San Antonio soon as well as continuing his US Tour."

The statement concluded, "Thank you all very much for your understanding. The show will be rescheduled soon."

The rep also advised those who were planning to attend the event to hold on to their tickets, as directions on the rescheduled show would come as soon as possible.
