— -- Denzel Washington has high praise for his "Magnificent Seven" co-star Chris Pratt.

The two-time Oscar winner opened up about the "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Jurassic World" star, noting the similarities between Pratt and his "Philadelphia" co-star Tom Hanks.

"Chris is great," Washington gushed to ABC Radio's "GMA After Hours" host Lynda Lopez. "I can see why he's so popular. There's another actor that I worked with, whatever, 20 years ago, by the name of Hanks who had that same quality about them, that you just really like them -- aside from their obvious talent, they're good people and it comes across on screen."

After Washington's comments were played for Pratt, he was blown away.

"Wow," the actor said, obviously moved. "Now I feel like I have to repay a compliment with a compliment."

"Denzel's a legend," he continued. "I learned a lot just watching him. He may be the greatest living actor and one of the greatest actors of all time."

Washington leads a ragtag group of allies against a bloodthirsty businessman in "The Magnificent Seven," which also stars Vincent D'Onofrio and Ethan Hawke. The movie opens Friday.
