'The Crown' season 6 to feature King Charles III, Queen Camilla's royal wedding

A royal wedding will take place on the sixth and final season of "The Crown."

The series, a fictional dramatization that famously charts the story of Britain's royal family, has invited viewers to the wedding of Prince Charles (now King Charles III) and Camilla Parker-Bowles (now Queen Camilla) for the upcoming season.

"After six seasons, seven years and three casts, The Crown comes to an end later this year," Netflix wrote Monday in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Here's a hint at what's to come in our final season."

The post included a photo of a program from Charles and Camilla's nuptials.

Charles acceded to the throne in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. His coronation took place in May.

"The Crown" premiered in 2016 and, as indicated by Netflix's latest post on X, will come to an end "later this year."
