Disney has pulled "Mulan" from its August 21 release date, without announcing a new one.

The live-action version of the animated classic had been delayed four times

In addition, three "Star Wars" films -- of which nothing solid is known -- will be bumped by a year: they will now be released Dec. 22, 2023, Dec. 19, 2025 and Dec. 17, 2027.

James Cameron's four "Avatar" follow-ups will also be delayed, and will now hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2022; Dec. 20, 2024; Dec. 18, 2026 and Dec. 22, 2028.

"Over the last few months, it's become clear that nothing can be set in stone when it comes to how we release films during this global health crisis, and today that means pausing our release plans for 'Mulan' as we assess how we can most effectively bring this film to audiences around the world," a representative for Walt Disney Studios said in a statement.

At this point, no new films are slated to premiere until next month at the earliest. According to Deadline, the release of "Unhinged," starring Russell Crowe, has been pushed from July 30, and although it may open next month instead, no new official release date has been announced. Similarly, Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" was indefinitely delayed earlier this week.

Disney also confirmed Thursday that many of its movies are on track to premiere this year, including "The New Mutants" on Aug. 28, "The King's Man" on Sept. 18, "Death on the Nile" on Oct. 23, "Black Widow" on Nov 6 and "West Side Story" on Dec 18.

On Thursday, AMC Theaters announced that it would delay reopening cinemas until mid to late August, amid rising cases of COVID-19, according to Variety.

ABC News' Lesley Messer contributed to this report.
