Exclusive 'Beauty and the Beast' Trailer Premieres on 'GMA'

— -- The new extended trailer for Disney's revamped, live action, musical, "Beauty and the Beast" aired exclusively on "Good Morning America" today.

The trailer gave viewers a glimpse of the stunning new cinematography for the upcoming film based on the 1991 animated classic by the same name, and featuring the same beloved characters and songs. The film follows the tale of a bright and independent young woman, Belle (played by Emma Watson), who is taken prisoner by a misunderstood Beast (played by Dan Stevens).

The original animated version of "Beauty and the Beast" became the first animated film to ever be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Picture category.

The live action musical will be released on March 17, 2017.
