Gavin Rossdale shot to fame in 1992 when he formed his band Bush, but when looking back at his extensive career and life -- one thing stands out first and foremost as his most humiliating.

Speaking to The Guardian on Saturday, the "Glycerine" artist was asked about his "most embarrassing moment" and didn't hold back from spilling the honest truth.

"The gross and lopsided spectre of the crumbling of my marriage," Rossdale pointedly answered, referencing the media circus that followed when he and wife Gwen Stefani filed for divorce in August 2015. Stefani and Rossdale wed in 2002 and share three sons together: Kingston, 14, Zuma, 11, and Apollo, 6.

For the latter half of the year, tabloids claimed that Rossdale destroyed their 13-year marriage when Stefani uncovered his multi-year affair with their children’s nanny. The damning reports were never confirmed.

The Bush frontman also discussed a variety of topics during the candid interview, answering questions such as what he disliked most about himself -- of which he mused, "I’ve got soccer player legs." The 54-year-old also said being misunderstood makes him unhappy and that he would like to be remembered as being a "Funny and generous" person.
