Why Jamie Dornan Got Drunk With Rob Pattinson
— -- If anyone can get Jamie Dornan prepared for the sudden rise of fame that's about to happen with the release of "Fifty Shades of Grey," it's Rob Pattinson.
The two became friends last year after Dornan filmed "Fifty Shades," a role that Pattinson, 28, reportedly turned down.
Pattinson's own life changed overnight after he starred as Edward Cullen in the blockbuster Twilight franchise.
"I’ve been around Rob long enough to see what it’s been like for him," Dornan, 32, told Variety. "I don’t know if it’s been a benefit to witness that. Whatever that is."
He added, "By the way, it’s not the same thing. We’re not the 'Twilight' franchise. We’re a different thing. Whatever my situation is, it’s going to be different from Rob's. They are incomparable."
Sure, but did that stop them from comparing notes over the few dinners they've had?
"I don’t remember what we talked about the last time I saw him," Dornan said. "I think we just got drunk."
