"Doing biographies is a tough thing," he said in an interview. "Sometimes it takes 20 years to get them done."

Foxx portrayed Ray Charles in the 2004 film "Ray," which won him the Oscar for best actor.

The "Django Unchained" star has been hitting the gym pretty hard in order to develop those bulging upper-body muscles. "Every other day I do 60 pull ups, we do 60 dips, we do 100 pushups -- it's changing the body," he dished before referencing his lower half.

"I ain't got no legs," Foxx confessed. "I ain’t got no calf muscles, so we might have to get some prosthetics for that." Foxx also jokingly floated the possibility of shooting the biopic only from the waist up.

After proudly flashing a photo of his current progress, for which Birnbaum praised him for looking like a young Tyson, Foxx admitted he still has ways to go.

"We want to show everybody evolves," he said. "I think everybody from young and old will be able to understand this man’s journey."
