All about John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's reunion: 'Grease is still the word'

'Grease' prequel headed to the big screen

"Grease is the word" and John Travolta says it "always" will be.

The actor and his on-screen partner, Olivia Newton-John, reunited over the weekend for several "Meet 'N' Grease" events in Florida celebrating the legacy of their iconic 1978 film, "Grease."

The events allowed fans to experience a screening of the movie, see Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson sing a duet once more and reminisce about the cult classic. Attendees of the reunion events were also encouraged to dress up to celebrate the film.

A photo Newton-John, 71, shared on social media of the stars in their famous costumes quickly took over social media.

"First time in costume since we made the movie ! So excited!!" she captioned the sweet snap.

When asked during a Q&A why the movie is still a hit after all these years -- 41 years to be exact -- the actress said, "You know what? I think we should ask you why it's such a big hit after all these years!"

"We love it, and you love it and we're so happy that you love it so much," she continued. "Thank you for supporting us...it's amazing."

Travolta, 65, also shared a video from the event, which he captioned, "Grease will ALWAYS be the word."

He spoke with fans about the wild response the film got and the moment they both knew it would be big.

"I think Olivia and I experienced that moment together because I think nothing was bigger than 'Grease' when we experienced that," he said in the Q&A. "Once that movie opened and we saw the reaction that everybody had to it, I think we knew at that moment that this was something incredible."
