Despite several upcoming reboots of classic TV shows like "Sex and the City" and "The Wonder Years," as well as the numerous ones from recent years, from "Saved by the Bell" to "Gossip Girl," Joshua Jackson said he can't fathom one happening for "Dawson's Creek."

"I don't know why you'd want to [bring it back]," Jackson, 43, told MrPorter.com. "Nobody needs to know what those characters are doing in middle age. We left them in a nice place."

The "Little Fires Everywhere" actor, who starred in the beloved series as Pacey Witter, added, "Nobody needs to see that Pacey's back hurts. I don't think we need that update."

"Dawson's Creek" ran for six seasons, from 1998 until 2003. The show follows a tight group of friends -- Dawson Leery (James Van Der Beek), Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams), Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) and Jackson's Pacey -- as they grow through high school, college and life.

The series has gained a new life through streaming, which has introduced a whole new audience to the beloved coming-of-age series, something Jackson said he finds intriguing.

"It always surprises me when young people say they've just got into 'Dawson's Creek,'" he said. "I'm like, 'Is it a costume drama to you? Do you feel like you're watching a historical documentary?'"
