Disney fans just got their first glimpse of the live-action "Tangled."

During Disney's entertainment showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the studio revealed that the upcoming adaptation of its 2010 animated classic will arrive in theaters on March 31, 2028.

Fans inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, were also treated to a brief first look at Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel.

The footage opened with a shot of Rapunzel's signature long blonde hair cascading down a set of medieval stairs before the camera moved up to reveal Croft as the beloved Disney princess.

Hahn then appeared as Mother Gothel, stepping out from behind a door in a tunnel-like alley and calling out, "Rapunzel!"

The moment prompted cheers from the crowd, particularly for Hahn, who had been a popular fan choice on social media to take on the villainous role.

Hahn also chatted with "Good Morning America" chief meteorologist Ginger Zee at D23, opening up about taking on the iconic character and revealing that production on the film is currently underway in Spain.

"I'm very humbled and flattered to be asked to be in this, and I couldn't be more proud," Hahn told Zee.

"We're in the middle of it," she said of filming, adding, "It already feels really magical what's happening up there."

Hahn also praised her young co-stars Croft and Milo Manheim, who plays Flynn Rider in the upcoming adaptation.

"Teagan and Milo are so beautiful together," she said.

The live-action film will reimagine Disney's animated "Tangled," which hit theaters in 2010 and featured Mandy Moore as the voice of Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn Rider.

The new "Tangled" joins Disney's growing slate of live-action adaptations of its animated films.

With production underway and fans getting their first look at Croft and Hahn in character, the countdown is officially on for the film's March 31, 2028, theatrical release.

The Walt Disney Co. is the parent company of ABC News and "Good Morning America."
