Keke Palmer just released a deeply personal new single titled "My Confession," and it's turning heads for more than just its melody.

The track, which dropped May 9, addresses her highly publicized breakup with Darius Jackson, with whom she shares son Leo, and touches on the viral Las Vegas moment with Usher that sparked headlines and a wave of internet discourse last summer.

"Summer '23 we was in Vegas right / Broke up with me and you hopped up on a flight," Palmer sings in the opening verse, hinting that her controversial appearance at Usher's concert came after her relationship had already ended.

"48 hours later online / Made me a villain for sympathy but you lied," she continues, likely referencing the now-infamous tweet Jackson posted in response to her outfit that night: "It's the outfit tho.. you a mom."

A screenshot of the tweet even appears in the song's music video.

Palmer took to Instagram to offer context for the track, calling it her most vulnerable work yet.

"'My Confession' is exactly what it sounds like, me giving voice to the feelings I buried," she wrote. "Sometimes the closure we need doesn't come from a conversation, it comes from being honest with ourselves. That's what this song is. My peace. My clarity. My way of letting go."

She also revealed she co-wrote the track with longtime friend and songwriter Tayla Parx, calling the process "raw, emotional, and real."

The song is now available on all streaming platforms.
