A star from MTV's "The Challenge" reality show has lost sight in one eye after apparently hitting it with a champagne cork.

Theo Campbell, who is based in the U.K., shared a selfie on Instagram with a bandage on his right eye. He wrote, "So yeah basically 2 eye surgeries later after a really unfortunate accident, I’ve lost all vision in my right eye as it got split in half, who would have thought a champagne cork would be the end of me...But I still have 1 eye left, looking at the bright side of things."

Theo Campbell attends an inaugural award ceremony in London celebrating the films, music, media and people who have had a positive social impact on the UK in the last year, Feb. 8, 2019.

Campbell's girlfriend, Kaz Crossley, spoke about the incident in her Instagram story.

"It was really serious," Crossley said in a selfie video.

Crossley also described how "someone popped a champagne bottle directly" under Campbell's face and the cork went "right into his eye."

Campbell apparently had a gash down the middle of his eye and ended up getting stitches.

"It’s unlikely I’ll see properly again, they done [sic] a good job saving it as they said I might loose my whole eye to begin with," Campbell wrote on Twitter Wednesday.
