Ousted 'Bachelor' Contestant Ashley Iaconetti 'Not Fit For the Farm'
— -- Ashley Iaconetti was denied a rose from “Bachelor” Chris Soules on Monday night’s episode, but the 26-year-old says it was not because of her controversial comments about a fellow contestant.
“I don’t think my decision to tell Chris about Kelsey had anything to do with me getting a rose,” Iaconetti said today on “Good Morning America.” “I’m probably not fit for the farm.”
Iaconetti left the reality TV show with a bang after telling Soules, a farmer from Arlington, Iowa, that fellow contestant Kelsey Poe was “kind of fake.”
“I completely took one for the team,” Iaconetti said of speaking out about Poe, a 28-year-old guidance counselor who had delayed a previous Rose Ceremony after suffering what she said was a panic attack.
“I really did feel like I had to be a spokesperson for the girls at home so I’m kind of glad I did it,” Iaconetti said.
As much as Iaconetti’s candidness with Soules may have been awkward to watch on TV – considering Poe was along on the two-on-one date, Iaconetti says it was even worse in person.
“It was way more awkward than TV showed,” she said. “The helicopter ride especially. It was an hour-long and just Chris in the middle of us.”
“It was really funny,” Iaconetti added.
The awkwardness could continue next week when Poe, who was also not given a rose by Soules, and Iaconetti meet again to tape the show's “Women Tell All” episode.
“I am so excited to go and see my friends and then in the back of my mind I’m like, ‘Oh but Kelsey is going to be there,’” Iaconetti said. “I have no idea how we’re going to react to each other but I do know I should probably have the support of the other girls, which is good.”
Iaconetti was seen crying on the Monday night’s episode, seemingly over her heartbreak with Soules, but the former contestant says it was not really all about Soules.
“I’m just an emotional person. I cry all the time. That was really dramatic,” she said. "That’s kind of me when I cry. It’s just ugly.”
“I really did have strong feelings with him and I was really attracted to him,” Iaconetti said of Soules. "And then you separate yourself from the situation and you’re like, ‘Okay. Let’s be real. Could I really survive on the farm? Yeah I could. But would I be happy?’”
