Nominations for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on Wednesday.

Emmy nominations will be presented by Emmy-winners Liza Colón-Zayas from "The Bear" and Jeff Hiller from "Widow's Bay."

Ahead of this year's Emmy Awards, several changes have been made to the 2026 Emmy Awards competition.

In January, the Television Academy announced that its Board of Governors had merged the outstanding scripted variety series category and the outstanding talk series category into one outstanding variety series category, due to the reduced number of submissions.

Additionally, the name of the outstanding television movie category has been changed to outstanding movie to reflect the evolving landscape of cinematic content created for broadcast or streaming. Changes have also been made to the short form, sound mixing and music categories, and the casting, costume and lighting, and camera & technical arts categories have been expanded.

The 2026 Emmys will be held at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live on Monday, Sept. 14. It will air on NBC and will be streamed live on Peacock. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6.

On Tuesday, the Television Academy announced that Mariska Hargitay will host the 78th Emmys ceremony. Hargitay will be the first female to host the awards show since Jane Lynch in 2011.

How to watch the Emmy nominations ceremony?

The ceremony will stream live from the Academy's Wolf Theatre at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET.

You can watch the live stream here.
