Priyanka Chopra recently shared a throwback to reflect on a special moment in her life.

The actress, 37, posted a snap from the Miss World competition in 2000, which she won when she was just 18 years old. Before making her way to the big screen and becoming a global star, Chopra secured that title as well as the Miss India title.

In her social media post she talked about her passion for supporting women and representing female empowerment.

"Miss World at 18! The turn of the millennium...the year 2000!" she wrote. "Wow. It feels like just yesterday I was living this dream."

"Now, almost 20 years later, my enthusiasm for changing the status quo remains as strong and is at the core of everything I do," she continued.

"I truly believe girls have the power to bring about change if they get the opportunities they deserve," she wrote.

She added the hashtags "#strivehigher" and "#dreambig" to the post, which has received over 2 million likes. The actress opened up about competing for the Miss World title in an interview with ELLE UK in 2017.

"I do think pageants are subject to a lot of stereotyping, and some of them deserve it too, but my experience with Miss World wasn't like that," she told the outlet. "It was focused on being a woman of substance -- how well you'd be able to solve world issues, what kind of orator you are etc."
