— -- Shannen Doherty has been battling breast cancer since last August and her husband Kurt Iswarienko has been beside her the whole way.

On Monday, the "Charmed" star posted a loving tribute to her husband of five years, along with a photo from their wedding day.

"Our wedding was exceptional and not for the big event it was. It was exceptional because we committed for better or worse, in sickness or in health to love and cherish one another," she shared. "Those vows have never meant more than they do now. Kurt has stood by my side thru sickness and makes me feel more loved now than ever. I would walk any path with this man. Take any bullet for him and slay every dragon to protect him. He is my soul mate. My other half. I am blessed."

Doherty posted the photo in response to a seven-day "love your spouse" challenge by good friend Sarah Michelle Gellar.

"She was telling me about going thru old photos and the memories and emotions they evoke," Doherty wrote Monday.

On Tuesday, she posted a second photo of her and Iswarienko on a ski vacation in Vail.

"I can honestly say that we always have a great time together. @kurtiswarienko thank you for being my best friend," Doherty wrote alongside the photo.

The actress also revealed that her cancer had spread even before she began treatment.

"I had breast cancer that spread to the lymph nodes, and from one of my surgeries we discovered that some of the cancer cells might have actually gone out of the lymph nodes. So for that reason, we are doing chemo, and then after chemo, I'll do radiation," she told "Entertainment Tonight" in August.

At the time of Doherty's cancer reveal last year, she filed a lawsuit against her former business managers for allegedly failing to keep up on her insurance payments, according to the suit obtained by ABC News. The management firm has denied the claim and the suit is still ongoing.
