— -- It seems to be the summer of celebrity splits.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are the latest in a line of surprising celebrity breakups this summer.

Rock's royal couple revealed Monday that they had filed for divorce.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," the musicians said in a statement released Monday.

The statement came after Stefani filed her petition citing irreconcilable difference. Rossdale filed a response shortly thereafter, according to court records obtained by The Associated Press.

The former couple cited irreconcilable differences for the breakup.

Stefani, 45, who has fronted the band No Doubt in addition to having a successful solo career, is currently a judge on NBC's "The Voice."

Rossdale, 49, the lead singer of the band Bush, has also worked on "The Voice."

The couple married in 2002 and their youngest son is 17 months old.

Stefani and Rossdale aren't the only surprising split this summer. Here's a quick roundup of others:

Two weeks ago, Shelton and wife, Miranda Lambert, announced they were divorcing.

"This is not the future we envisioned," representatives for the country superstars said in a statement to the AP on July 20. "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

The couple were together for about a decade and married in 2011 in Texas after five years of dating. They celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this past May.

This is the second divorce for Shelton, 39, who stars on "The Voice" in addition to his very successful music career. He divorced first wife, Kaynette Gern, in 2006.

Lambert, 31, opened up about her marriage last January in Marie Claire, saying "Blake's the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness. ... Literally, everything is the best about being married."

Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock

An even bigger shock to country music was Monday's announcement by Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock that they were ending their 26-year marriage.

In a joint statement on the country queen's website, the two revealed that they have been separated for the past few months.

"Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other," the statement read. "They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time."

McEntire, 60, and Blackstock, 58, her manager, married in 1989. The next year, they welcomed a son, Shelby, who is now a race care driver. Blackstock also has children from a previous marriage, including son Brandon, who is married to Kelly Clarkson.

Together, McEntire and Blackstock own Starstruck Entertainment, a talent management group that represents the likes of Blake Shelton. This was the second marriage for both.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck

Hollywood power couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, led the way for this summer's splits, announcing their divorce on June 30.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said in a joint statement. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."

This announcement came just one day after the couple's 10th wedding anniversary.

Garner, 43, and Affleck, 42, married in 2005 and have three children, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.

Despite their breakup, the actors will continue to live on the same property, a source close to the situation told ABC News.

"It's obviously a very sad time for both of them," the source told ABC News. "They have been trying to save the marriage for years, but they know it's the right thing for their family and for them. The kids will continue to come before everything."
