The Sweet Way Matthew McConaughey is Celebrating His Oscar Nod With His Family
Jan. 16, 2014 — -- Matthew McConaughey woke up around 5:15 a.m. this morning, sat back in bed and turned on the TV to watch the Oscar nominations with his wife Camila.
"Boom, I think the first thing is 'Dallas [Buyers Club]' comes up for Original Screenplay, we were like 'Woo hoo, didn't expect that one!'" McConaughey told ABC News. "Then Jared [Leto] came up and they said his name last. Then they got to me and said my name last! It was a wonderful little moment and we are still having it right now."
He added that his wife's reaction to his Oscar nod was one of utter joy, saying "[Camila] made a noise that was more like a shriek! It wasn't really an English word. Then we gave each other a nice good morning hug, kiss and high five."
The actor, who lost more than 40 pounds to play Ron Woodroof, told ABC he's going to keep the family celebration going!

"We are catching the sunrise and the kiddos are waking up," he added. "We are going to family breakfast it, then I'm going to go chase this sunrise for a little four-mile jog," he said. "Then we have a show to go to tonight, my wife and I. We'll let the day unravel."
Having "Dallas Buyers Club" as such an underdog heading into awards season makes the acclaim that much sweeter for McConaughey, 44.
"We were declined 137 times, we were rejected so many times, makes it that much more rewarding," he said. "We were such an underdog story and got this thing made for a little bit of money, little bit of time."

As for his iconic "All right, all right, all right" intro to his Golden Globes acceptance speech, it's just something McConaughey said brings back great memories.
"Those are the first three words I've ever said on film," he explained. "The summer of 1992, If I get up and have any presentation, I find it a great way to kick off anything I'm going to say. Three affirmative 'all rights' from a classic time in my life."
Will he repeat the lines if he wins Best Actor at the Oscars?
"We'd have to see when we got there. Right now we'll take this nomination," he said.
