Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and more react to Golden Globe nominations
Golden Globe nominations were announced Monday morning, and many of the biggest names in the film and television industry are celebrating their recognition by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Stars like Taylor Swift and Ben Platt took to social media to express their gratitude for their castmates, collaborators, producers and more in earning these nods.

Taylor Swift
The chart-topping singer received a best original song nomination for her single "Beautiful Ghosts" that she created with Andrew Lloyd Webber for the upcoming film adaptation of "Cats."
"I woke up today to the news that Beautiful Ghosts is nominated for a Golden Globe - it’s so cool that one of the most fun, fulfilling creative experiences I’ve ever had is being honored in this way by the HFPA," she wrote on Instagram.
"Congrats to my co-writer and buddy 4 life Andrew Lloyd Webber," she continued. "This is just purrfect."
Jennifer Lopez
The star shared a video of her excited reaction to receiving a best supporting actress nomination for her role in "Hustlers."
She wrote about the significance of playing her character Ramona in the caption of her Instagram post.
"Ramona was a complicated character and it was an honor and challenge to bring her to life," she detailed. "Hustlers was a labor of love, sweat and perseverance written, directed, produced, edited and starring a group of bad--- women."
"I am proud and honored to represent them and this film!!!! " she added.
Ben Platt
Platt, who received a best actor nomination for his performance in "The Politician," said he is "immensely proud" of his work on the show.
"Thank you so much to the HFPA for including us and for placing my name in a delicious Bill Hader & Paul Rudd sandwich," he wrote on social media.
"I am beyond excited and honored to be nominated for my first ever Golden Globe along with our series!" he said in a statement.
Awkwafina
"The Farewell" actress said she was "incredibly honored" to receive her best actress in a musical or comedy nomination for the film.
"I grew up watching the Golden Globes every year, cheering for my favorite films and actors...it is surreal that I now get to go!" her statement read. "Wait, I do get to go right?”
Natasha Lyonne
The actress thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press in a statement for her best actress in a comedy series nomination for "Russian Doll."
"I put my heart and soul into Nadia Vulvokov and share this recognition with everyone who worked tirelessly on Russian Doll," her statement read.
"This nomination is very affirming on a creative level and means the world to me," the statement continued. "Currently hard at work in the writers’ room on our second season where I’ll be spending most of the day plotting how to get Joe Pesci’s autograph at the ceremony. Thank you!"
Saoirse Ronan
The actress received a best actress nomination for her performance in the upcoming Greta Gerwig-directed film, "Little Women."
“Getting to play Jo March, one of the most inspiring characters in literature, still today, has been an honor," she said in a statement. "I am eternally grateful to Greta Gerwig for her guidance and partnership, and for her fierce perseverance that brought this incredible cast together and created an environment for us to become a real family and tell this very special story."
Gerwig notably did not receive a nomination for "Little Women," and Ronan took note of the director's influence in her statement.
"My performance in this film belongs to Greta as much as it does myself and I share this recognition completely with her," Ronan said.
Kaitlyn Dever
The breakout actress and star of "Unbelievable" received her first Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Marie, a survivor of sexual assault, in the drama series.
"Wow. I can’t believe this !!!" she wrote. "I feel so blessed to be recognized alongside such a talented group of women." Fellow nominees in the category include Joey King, Helen Mirren, Merritt Wever and Michelle Williams.
"To my fellow 'Unbelievable' cast, and the extraordinary producers, congratulations! It was a team effort to bring Marie’s story to the forefront and do her justice," Dever continued. "THANK YOU to everyone who put their trust in me to portray Marie. I’m incredibly honored and overwhelmed."
Sacha Baron Cohen
The star received a best actor nomination for "The Spy." "I am hugely proud of The Spy and thrilled that it has been seen and embraced by audiences around the globe," he tweeted.
Emma Thompson
“I am thrilled beyond measure to have been nominated for one of my favourite roles ever - I owe so much to Nisha Ganatra and EVERYTHING to the one and only Mindy Kaling!” the actress said on receiving a best actress nomination for "Late Night."
Mindy Kaling shared how thrilled she was for her co-star in a congratulatory post.
"I wrote @latenightmovie for Emma having never met her, and when she said yes, it was one of the most exciting days of my career," she detailed on Instagram.
"Acting with her and having her say my words made me a better artist in every discipline!" she continued. "I’m thrilled she’s getting recognized by the #HFPA for the role of Katherine Newbury with this #GoldenGlobes nomination, proving a woman over 50 can be the lead of a comedy movie. #LateNightMovie."
Kathy Bates
Bates received a best supporting actress nomination for her performance in "Richard Jewell," a film based on the 1996 Summer Olympics bombing in Atlanta.
She plays Bobi Jewell, mother of the late Richard Jewell, the heroic security guard who was falsely suspected in the bombing.
“Thank you HFPA for the recognition, I am so proud of this film and it was an honor to work with Mr. Eastwood on telling this important story along with the incredible Paul, Sam, Olivia, Jon, Nina, Ian and Niko," she said in a statement.
"I hope our film brings justice and peace to Richard and Bobi Jewell in telling their truth and honoring his heroism," she added.
The actress also spoke about the significance of her role during an appearance on "Good Morning America" on Tuesday.
"It was 88 days for these people surrounded by the press, and for three days he was a hero and then suddenly he was the suspect," she said on the Jewell family. "It was so awful for them, and even now people think he's the bomber, even though it's been proven [he was not.]"
She also shared that she loved that Bobi loved the movie.
Beanie Feldstein
"What a ridiculously surreal, special morning," the best actress nominee for "Booksmart," said in a statement.
"Thank you to the HFPA for this beautiful nomination amongst the most extraordinary women," she continued. "And to get to be there with my partner on this journey - Kaitlyn Dever, my life partner - Ben Platt, and my Lady Bird - Saoirse Ronan, is too much for my heart."
"Booksmart" director Olivia Wilde congratulated the actress on Twitter.
