— -- After she surprised fans with a duet of "Royals" with pal Lorde during a sold-out show at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. on Monday night, Taylor Swift could hardly come down -- literally.

A piece of equipment that allowed the singer to rise above the stage seized, stranding Swift in mid-air.

But the show must go on, so Swift chose to sing "Clean" from her persnickety perch before the glitch was fixed and she was returned to terra firma.
