Carne Asada is back at Chipotle, plus see how to score free food this football season
College football is back, and the 2025 NFL season kicks off Thursday, so to mark the occasion, Chipotle is getting in on the game day action with the return of a fan-favorite menu item: carne asada.
Chipotle brings back carne asada for football season
Carne asada was the most-searched Chipotle menu item in 2024, according to Google search history, which was a catalyst for the fast-casual Mexican-inspired restaurant to announce its return for a limited time starting Thursday.
This is the fourth time carne asada, which was first introduced in 2019, has come back to Chipotle's menu.
The marinated beef is seasoned on the grill with a signature spice blend of cumin, coriander, garlic, and oregano and finished with fresh-squeezed lime and cilantro.
Each serving of carne asada has 29 grams of protein, per Chipotle.
Free entree, free delivery offers at Chipotle
Chipotle also announced its first-ever "Wear Your College Football Jersey" promotion this week.
The promotion will offer a buy one, get one deal on entrees to customers who order in-restaurant wearing a college football jersey on Sept. 15 after 5 p.m. local time.
Additionally, to celebrate the return of carne asada to the menu, all carne asada orders placed through the Chipotle app or online from Monday, Sept. 8, through Tuesday, Sept. 30, will be eligible for a $0 delivery fee offer.
