Eggo celebrates National Waffle Day with new meatless chik’n
A new plant-based twist on a sweet-and-savory classic has hit the shelves in time for National Waffle Day.
Eggo teamed up with Incogmeato by MorningStar Farms to make a vegetarian Chik'n and Waffles combo pack.
Whether it's brunch or breakfast for dinner, the beloved dish that has grown in popularity 121% from 2014 to 2015, according to Dataessential. And now the new vegetarian-friendly food is flexible for all waffle lovers.
"We're always looking for new ways to make vegetarian foods more accessible for everyone, so we're excited to partner with an iconic brand like Eggo to put a delicious new spin on a beloved dish like chicken and waffles," Heidi Ray, the Kellogg's marketing director for MorningStar Farms and Incogmeato, said in a statement. "This limited-edition combo pack gives people another opportunity to see how delicious plant-based can be and experience our Chik'n Tenders that look, cook, taste and tear just like the real thing."
