Monopoly Game makes comeback at McDonald's: How to play and win

Monopoly will return to McDonald's offering chances to win with 30 menu items.

Monopoly is officially coming back to McDonald’s for a limited time, bringing customers new ways to play the peel-off game on select menu items, along with a new version to play in the app.

While some customers may remember the game from childhood, others may have never had the chance to peel a sticker off the packaging of a Big Mac and collect a random prize ranging from free food to a trip or straight cash.

The game returns to McDonald's on Oct. 6, but customers can pre-register in the app now.

"Our fans have been clamoring for the return of Monopoly at McDonald’s, and we’re thrilled to bring it back with a modern, digital spin," Alyssa Buetikofer, SVP and CMO of McDonald's USA, said in a statement. "This game is a core memory for so many customers, and we’re excited that those memories can now be shared across generations."

How to play Monopoly at McDonald's

When customers order from the Monopoly at McDonald’s menu, there will be a small peel-and-play sticker, which can then be scanned in the app to collect a property piece and redeem prizes.

There are collect to win prizes such as 1 million American Airlines AAdvantage Miles, a trip for four to Universal Orlando, new cars and $10,000 shopping sprees or digital instant win prizes like DoorDash for a year, digital gift cards and a trip to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Each game piece also earns the person a bonus play for a second way to win in the app through Nov. 2.

Register to play

Customers can register for the game within the McDonald's app and opt in to rewards. Pre-registration is now open through Oct. 5, which will give customers an additional 500 bonus rewards points.

Order menu items to play

On Oct. 6, the registered players who order from the menu and receive either a physical game piece, such as a sticker on the side of a large order of fries or other packaging, or a digital piece on their phone when ordering from the app.

Eligible menu items

There are more than 30 eligible items from breakfast to dinner available to play, including popular menu picks like the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, McMuffin sandwiches, McCafe iced coffee, hash browns, large fountain drinks and more. Check the app for a full list of eligible menu items.
