We're gearing up for Hollywood's biggest night and the W Hollywood has three Oscar-worthy cocktails to get you in the spirit for the star-studded night.
The hotel, located on Hollywood Boulevard, is celebrating the 92nd Academy Awards with dazzling drinks named after three of this year's "Best Picture" nominees.
If you can't make it all the way to Hollywood, you can always mix up these carefully crafted cocktails from the comfort of your own home.
Check out the full recipes below and mix some of these concoctions up yourself for the perfect kind of "Oscar buzz!"
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Gin Fizz
Ingredients
- 1 oz. Tanqueray Gin
- 1 oz. Lillet Blanc
- 1 oz. strawberry syrup (or 2 muddled strawberries)
- 1 oz. lemon juice
- Rocks
- Soda water
- Mint stalk garnish
Directions
- Muddle 1-2 strawberries in a mixing tin.
- Add Tanqueray Gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice and ice to tin.
- Shake until properly diluted.
- Strain over fresh rocks into a Collins glass using a hawthorne strainer.
- Top with soda water.
- Slap mint stalk to release oils and place stem down into cocktail to garnish.
Jojo Rabbit on the Rocks
Ingredients
- 1.25 oz. Tito's Handmade Vodka
- 0.75 oz. Domaine de Canton (or any other ginger liqueur)
- 0.75 oz. carrot juice
- 0.75 oz lemon juice
- Small pinch of salt
- Rocks
- Orange swath wrapped around mint stalk (to give appearance of a carrot)
Directions
- Combine Tito's Handmade Vodka, Domaine de Canton, lemon juice and a pinch of salt into a shaking tin.
- Add ice and shake until properly diluted.
- Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice using a hawthorne strainer.
- Express orange swath over cocktail, roll tightly and skewer.
- Add mint stalk to one end of the rolled orange swath to create the appearance of a carrot.
Irishman Whiskey Cocktail
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. Jameson Irish Whiskey
- 1 oz. sweet vermouth
- 0.5 oz. green chartreuse
- 0.25 oz. simple syrup
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- Luxardo cherry wrapped in orange swath
Directions
- Combine James Irish Whiskey, Italian (sweet) Vermouth, Green Chartreuse, simple syrup and orange bitters into a mixing glass.
- Add ice and stir until properly diluted (approximately 35-40 times).
- Strain into a coupe using a julep strainer.
- Express orange swath over cocktail, wrap swath around Luxardo cherry and skewer.
The 92nd Academy Awards will be held Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California.
