Makes: 24

Ingredients
2 sticks unsalted butter, cold cut into cubes
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cane sugar
1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 vanilla bean, scraped or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
1/2 teaspoon sea salt, divided

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a glass 8x8 pan with parchment. Cut it extra long so you have two wings that will help you remove the biscuits after they have cooked.

To a food processor add the flour, sugar, brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Pulse to combine.

Add the butter cubes and vanilla beans and pulse until the dough forms a coarse meal.

Sprinkle the remaining salt onto the parchment paper and press the dough into the pan. (Cover in parchment or plastic wrap then press to keep your hands clean. An offset spatial will help smooth the top and make it flat). Prick with a fork.

Bake the until golden brown and edges are just firm, about 30 to 35 minutes.

Allow the biscuits to cool then remove them from the pan using the parchment paper, cut into 1 1/3 x 2 inch biscuits.
