Preview the 2026 Stanley Pup before it returns for 3rd year
The Stanley Pup is back!
The 90-minute broadcast, which dovetails with the NHL's Stanley Cup final, is returning for a third year and features 32 rescue dogs, all up for adoption and representing each of the 32 NHL teams.
The pups will compete in a friendly game, complete with a puppy puck and a mini rink.

"The goal is to get pups adopted and not only pups, older dogs too," Matt Nicholson, NHL Group Vice President, Production & Creative Development for NHL Productions, told ABC News' Danny New.

"Saturday Night Live" star and comedian Kenan Thompson will serve as a celebrity coach while Elias Weiss Friedman, the photographer behind The Dogist on social media, will host follow-up adoption segments.
Both dogs and cats will be up for adoption from the Brandywine Valley SPCA.
The Stanley Pup will air at 9:30 p.m. ET on Monday, June 8 on truTV and on HBO Max. It will also be available on the NHL's YouTube channel on Tuesday, June 9 and on the NHL Network on Wednesday, June 10 at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET.
The Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes also face off in game 1 of the Stanley Cup final Tuesday night.
