Family of 11-year-old boy who was fatally shot in Cincinnati begs for information
The family of an 11-year-old boy who was shot and killed in Cincinnati is pleading with the public to come forward with information.
Dominic Davis was killed and five others were injured in the Friday night mass shooting at an intersection in Cincinnati's West End, officials said.
Four of the injured victims were children between the ages of 12 and 15, and the fifth injured victim is a 53-year-old woman, Cincinnati police said. Four victims have been released from the hospital and one victim remains in the hospital in stable condition, police said Sunday.
The unknown gunman quickly fired 22 rounds from a dark sedan, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said.
"When will this stop?" Dominic's dad, Isaac Davis, said at a news conference Sunday.
"How many people have to bury their kids, their babies, their loved ones?" Davis asked.
"Anybody that knows anything, come forward, please," he said. "We're begging."
"Our entire city is grieving," Cincinnati City Manager Sheryl Long said.
Long said she's lost a relative to gun violence and she's "heartbroken and appalled" by this latest fatal shooting to strike the city.
"I will work tirelessly... to bring the perpetrators to justice," she said, adding, "It's not enough. Violence like this cannot be our status quo. It cannot be tolerated."
"Turn yourself in," the chief said. "Because if you don't, we will find you and we will bring you to justice."
