— -- Over the last ten years, Stand Up For Heroes has become an unparalleled annual event dedicated to raising money and awareness for wounded service members and their families.

Presented by The Bob Woodruff Foundation and the New York Comedy Festival, the yearly promise of laughs, live music and one-of-a-kind auction items (like Bruce Sprinsteen’s mom’s lasagna) has raised more than $33 million dollars to support nearly 2.5 million veterans and their families.

Tonight promises to keep the tradition strong with performances by Bruce Springsteen, who has headlined the fundraiser every year, and a star-studded roster featuring comedic legends like Louis C.K., Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart and Jim Gaffigan. The event will be held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.

"Sometimes it feels like a homecoming for me, to see some of the returning veterans and their families," ABC News' Bob Woodruff said. "It’s incredible that it’s been 10 years –- I never thought it would be this impactful."

The Bob Woodruff foundation was founded by Bob and Lee Woodruff after Bob was critically injured by a roadside bomb in 2006 while covering the war in Iraq for ABC News. Partnering with the founders of The New York Comedy Festival, Caroline Hirsch and Andrew Fox, the event started at New York’s Town Hall in 2007. In 2010, it moved to The Beacon Theater and finally landed at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in 2013.

With last year's show breaking previous fundraising efforts, $6.1 million dollars in donations over the course of the evening, this year's event looks promising. Who knows, maybe another Springsteen dinner dish will make the auction rounds.
