— -- Sixty-five people taking part in a march against police brutality were arrested in Baltimore Saturday night after they blocked part of Interstate 83, police said.

Of the 65 arrested 10 were juveniles.

Those arrested were charged with failure to obey and illegally walking on a highway. Initial reports cited the number of arrested at 20.

While blocking Interstate 83, protesters chanted "hands up, don't shoot." One participant carried a "Black Lives Matter" sign, while another wore a shirt that read "I am Freddie Gray," referring to a man who was fatally injured in the back of a police van last year, prompting protests and rioting.

March organizers said they were rallying to create a civilian review board for police investigations. They also want to reallocate 10 percent of the city's police budget for community programs.

"At approximately 6:00 p.m. after previously being warned multiple times, numerous individuals ran onto the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83), locked arms, and blocked traffic," the Baltimore Police Department said in a statement around 11:30 p.m. "Officers from the Baltimore Police Department arrived soon after and began making arrests."

The statement continued, "Fifty-five adults and 10 juveniles, were arrested. Those with proper identification were transported to the District Station and/or Central Booking Intake Facility, where they will be issued criminal and traffic citations and released. At this time processing continues."
