Many of us travel to see family members around the holidays, but the airfares are going up. Holiday airfares are expected to 10 percent higher than they were a year ago, according to Travelocity.com, a travel website.
Nina Willdorf, editor-in-chief of Budget Travel magazine, appeared on "Good Morning America" to talk about cheap, quick getaways for the fall and upcoming holidays.

You can get round-trip airfare on Continental Airlines, plus three nights at Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas. If you fly from Austin, the package will cost just $304 through Continental Vacations, Willdorf said. Vermont is a great place to see fall foliage, especially in Smugglers' Notch, the mountain pass named for the smugglers who used to sneak embargoed goods into the United States from Canada.
