American Airlines flight blows 2 tires upon landing at Chicago O'Hare: FAA
An American Airlines flight blew two tires upon landing at Chicago O'Hare International Airport on Monday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The airline said there were no injuries after American Airlines flight 386 "experienced a tire issue after landing safely" at the airport.
Passengers deplaned via stairs on the taxiway and were bused to the terminal, according to the FAA and American.
The Boeing 737-800 has been taken out of service for inspections, according to the airline.
"We thank our team members for their professionalism and we apologize to our customers for their experience," American said in a statement.
The flight, which had departed from LaGuardia Airport, landed around 2 p.m. local time Monday.
The FAA said it will investigate.
Also on Monday, a United Airlines flight similarly landed with blown tires at O'Hare.
The runway was temporarily closed due to debris on the ground, and a few flights had to go around as well, according to flight tracking data and air traffic control audio.
There were no injuries and passengers deplaned on the taxiway using airstairs and were bused to the terminal, United Airlines said.
The incidents come days after a different United Airlines flight abruptly aborted takeoff at O'Hare due to blown tires, according to air traffic control audio.
