Ashton Kutcher May Replace Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'
May 12, 2011— -- "That 70's Show" star Ashton Kutcher may return to television in a big way: as Charlie Sheen's replacement on the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men."
A deal is being finalized, The Hollywood Reporter reported, citing two sources, and "Men" creator Chuck Lorre reportedly has written a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies CBS and the studio that produces the show, Warner Bros., right before CBS unveils its fall schedule for advertisers in New York next Wednesday.
CBS refused to comment on the report. Warner Bros. and Kutcher's representatives at CAA also have not commented.
Kutcher apparently confirmed the deal on Thursday with a coy tweet asking, "what's the square root of 6.25?"
The answer is 2.5.
The unconfirmed report that Kutcher may be cast comes on the heels of a report on Wednesday that British actor Hugh Grant was in negotiations to join the cast of "Two and a Half Men," the number one-rated comedy on television, as well as reports that the show would be rebooted with more focus on Jon Cryer's character.

"Two and a Half Men" went on hiatus in January following Sheen's hospitalization and return to rehab. Sheen was fired from the show in March after publicly slamming Lorre, CBS and Warner Bros. in a series of interviews following his January hospitalization and "Two and a Half Men's" hiatus.
Since then, many names have been tossed around as potential replacements for Sheen including Rob Lowe, John Stamos and Jason Alexander.
In March Sheen's lawyer, Martin Singer, filed a $100 million lawsuit on behalf of Sheen and the "Two and a Half Men" cast and crew alleging a conspiracy among Warner Bros. and Lorre to shut down the show.
