May 16, 2014 -- Barbara Walters filmed her last two episodes of "The View" on Thursday, and this morning, she woke up early for an appearance on "Good Morning America."

However, come Monday, she's going to turn her alarm off.

"I'm going to lounge in bed until 3 in the afternoon," Walters told ABC News, adding that she's also planning a trip to Berlin with a friend.

The co-host and creator of "The View" announced last year that she was planning to say farewell to daily television, but that she'll stay on as executive producer of "The View." She will also contribute to ABC News as news warrants.

"I don't know what my life is going to be when it is unscheduled!" noted Walters, who joined the network in 1976. "I'll have to get used to it, but it sounds like a very good idea."

"I have always had a schedule. I've always had deadlines. I've always had things to do," she continued. "It will be nice to get up and say, 'What do I have to do today? Nothing!'"

It's certainly been a busy couple of days. One day after a big celebration for Walters at the Four Seasons in New York City, all 11 "View" co-hosts past and present reunited to say goodbye to the TV icon. Then, the TV journalist was surprised by several celebrity friends, including 25 broadcast journalists who were inspired by Walters.

"I want to be remembered as having inspired other young women to go into this business and to succeed. I've said it before and I mean it: They are my legacy," she said. "I have interviews I'm extremely proud of and some of them may even be one of a kind, but the lasting impact is the women who have, I hope, followed in my footsteps."
