'Breaking Bad' Actors Endorse Student Elections At Posh High School

May 10, 2012 -- Poster boards, paint and the occasional lunch room announcement are all tools students use to win a high school student government election.

But at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, Calif., the hip alma mater of such stars as Kate Hudson, Jack Black and Zooey Deschanel, two candidates have taken campaigning to a whole new level -- with celebrity endorsements.

AMC's "Breaking Bad" stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul made guest appearances in Maxwell Ulin's campaign video for student body president.

In the short clip Cranston says to the camera "don't make the same mistake again," referring to character Gustavo "Gus" Fring being killed in the series' season finale.

"Vote for Maxwell Ulin. You understand?" Cranston says.

Aaron Paul, known as Pinkman in the series, then appears briefly to talk to Ulin's rival, Summer Kennedy.

"Sorry, Summer. It's just business," Paul says.

Cranston and Paul's co-star, Giancarlo Esposito, also makes an appearance in Kennedy's video. The clip was made private on Facebook and unavailable for public viewing, according to a former Crossroads student who reported it on Reddit.

Ulin's father, Rob Ulin, is a Hollywood producer and writer. He's credited with such sitcoms as Roseanne, Malcolm in the Middle and Norm. He won a Humanitas Prize in 1988 for Roseanne.

"Maxwell is not going to talk to anybody, and we're not going to accommodate any press," Rob Ulin told ABC News.

All three actors declined to comment on the issue.
