Driver in custody after car crashes into Detroit airport terminal

Authorities in Michigan say a driver is in custody after a vehicle crashed through the entrance of a terminal at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport on Friday evening.

The Wayne County Airport Authority said the crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The car hit a ticket counter inside the McNamara Terminal, the airport authority said, and six people were treated at the scene. Authorities did not specify the nature of their injuries.

The identity of the driver has not been released.

The cause of the crash is still unknown, the airport authority said.
