LONDON Aug. 7, 2013— -- A man posing as a millionaire from Kazakhstan and who traveled in a chauffeured Bentley is believed to have swiped $750,000 worth of jewelry while pretending to want to buy the luxurious London home of Petro Ecclestone.

A pair of diamond earrings and a diamond encrusted Rolex watch were taken from the home of Ecclestone, the 24-year-old daughter of renowned motor racing mogul Bernie Ecclestone and a favorite of the paparazzi

Ecclestone's house, located in Eaton Square in the city's fashionable Chelsea district, is on the market for $48 million. Ecclestone was not at home during the theft which took place several weeks ago, according to the Daily Mail.

London's police were not notified of the theft, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said.

Knight Frank property agents are one of two dealing with the sale of the Ecclestone house. A spokeswoman told the Press Association: "Knight Frank is joint agents on the property on Eaton Square, but I can confirm that we did not show this person around the property."

The suspected thief reportedly called himself Oleg, claimed to be from Kazakhstan, and according to other London property agents, had been viewing several smart London properties in recent months.

He used a chauffeur-driven Bentley to attend viewings and wore dark glasses throughout.

The jewelry at the Ecclestone property was removed from a night stand in one of the house's six bedrooms.

Petra is believed to have flown back to the U.S. where she owns Candy Spelling's 57,000 square foot mansion in Los Angeles' exclusive Holmby Hills.
