May 7, 2010— -- Pests can get into your home through any little gap. To keep them at bay, caulk around your doors and windows to cut down your chances of receiving unwanted house guests. The first gaps you should fix are any that are larger than 1/4 inch.

Talcum powder is often associated with babies because it soothes skin irritations, but it's also an effective, natural ant repellent. Just sprinkle the powder around your home's foundation and entry points such as door and window frames.
