'Jersey Shore' Star 'The Situation' Launches iPhone App

Sept. 17, 2010 — -- The iPhone's got a situation.

Well, The Situation, to be specific. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, star of MTV's hit reality series "Jersey Shore," has launched an iPhone app.

The app, available at the iTunes store for $4.99, makes the pop culture phenom's five most famous features immediately accessible to anyone. It offers a workout plan to craft enviable abs, a GTL finder to locate the nearest gym, tanning salon or laundromat, a soundboard that plays notable quotables from "The Sitch" (i.e.: "Big is out and lean is in"), a button to Facebook message Sorrentino, and a game called Grenade Dodger, in which deadly grenades -- "Jersey Shore" slang for less-than-attractive women -- fall from above.

The iPhone app is the latest business venture for the 28-year-old personality who seems determined to prove that GTL is the new MBA.

Last month, Sorrentino announced he's releasing an ab workout DVD set to hit stores in time for the holiday binge-eating season and the inevitable New Year's resolutions that follow.

"He's got what people consider a great body, hence his name 'The Situation,' so we decided what better way for people to get their own situation," Sorrentino's older brother, Marc, told RadarOnline.

Aside from abs and eloquence, Sorrentino and his brother pride themselves on their fashion IQ. In August, Marc also announced that a Situation clothing line is in the works. The piece de resistance of the collection:

"People are going to be really excited about our retro suede jumpsuits," he told RadarOnline. "We're bringing them back because they were worn by the most stylish Italians."

The most stylish Italians could not be reached for comment.
