Jan. 23, 2014— -- Miami Beach Police report that Khalil Amir Sharieff was the man racing Justin Bieber when he was arrested early Thursday morning for drag racing and DUI.

Sharieff was driving a red Ferrari, while Bieber was in a yellow Lamborghini.

So, who is Sharieff? Here are 5 things to know about the man who goes by the stage name Khalil.

1 - He's a Singer Too - He's an American Contemporary R&B singer from California, who signed to Def Jam Records in 2008. Khalil is featured on three songs on Lil Twist's mixtape "The Golden Child." Lil Twist is another know friend of Bieber's.

He also did a song "Hey Lil Mama," featuring Lil Twist, which has more than 6 million views on Vevo. As of 2011, he was no longer signed to Def Jam.

2 - Same Age as Biebs - He is also 19 years old just like his friend Justin Bieber. He was born Nov. 22, 1994.

3 - Check Out His Latest Single - Here's his song "Stars," his latest Vevo video, which was released on June 20, 2013.

"All the girls rushing, they straight tipping," he says in the song. "My lips will take you up into the sky."

4 - He's a Film Maker - In late 2012, Khalil released a documentary "Khalil: A Long Story Short."

Episode one shows him talking about skating, music and how he balances work time in the studio with play time.

"I'm not too much of a wild guy," he says in the film. "I'm all about work, I'm all about studio."

5 - He's Big Into Family - During his documentary, Khalil says it's family that keeps him going.

"I like to keep my family around," he said. "To have ... all these guys out in LA with me ... that's what keeps you going, you know, your team."
