Michigan LDS chapel shooting victims: Survivor 'ran toward' gunfire, family says
Four people were killed and eight others were injured in a mass shooting and fire during worship services at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Sunday.
"We mourn with our members who have lost loved ones, and we join in prayer for comfort with others around the world who are suffering from similar tragedies," Dallin H. Oaks, president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said in a statement.
"We all seek answers and understanding in the wake of trauma, shock, and grief," Oaks said.

Here is what we know about the victims killed and injured:
John Bond

John Bond, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, was among the four people killed in the shooting, his family confirmed to ABC News.
A nine-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Bond was a "well-known and loved member of his family and active in his community," his family said.
He loved spending time with his family and grandkids, playing golf and researching trains, the family said.
Greg Mikat

When the gunman drove into the chapel, congregant Greg Mikat ran toward the gunfire, a family member told ABC News.
Mikat was shot three times and has been admitted to the intensive care unit, his family said.
"Most people ran away from the danger. Greg ran toward it in an effort to help protect those that were there," the family member said. "We're just so proud of him and really hoping and praying that he will get through this."
The family member described Mikat as a "dedicated and faithful father and friend" who attends services every Sunday.
His family is fundraising to help cover his medical bills and lost wages.
"Greg is fighting hard, but the road to recovery will be long, with surgeries, hospital stays, and months of healing ahead. While Greg focuses on recovery, the family is also facing enormous challenges -- medical bills, time away from work and the daily expenses of keeping life moving during this crisis," their fundraiser said.
