What to know about the new Elizabeth Holmes documentary from Nathan Fielder
Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos founder-turned-convicted felon, will be featured in a new documentary from Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim coming this fall.
A24 shared the new project, titled "You Can See Everything," in a social media post on Sunday including a clip for the film. Holmes is currently imprisoned after being found guilty in 2022 of fraud. She began serving her over 11-year sentence in 2023.
A synopsis for the film on A24's website, says, "Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move."
The description continues, "What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss."
The film will hit theaters in October, according to A24.
The clip posted to social media features Fielder, who has built a career off of comedic docu-style projects, in a seemingly deep conversation with Holmes.
"I'm not that person. I can promise you that," Holmes says in the clip. "I don't have anything to deceive you on, of course I'm not deceiving you. I'm engaging with you as a human being. Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that."
Fielder responds, "OK. Alright. OK, good chat," before the conversation continues.
"You're being real right now?" Fielder asks, to which Holmes responds, "I'm always being real."
An X account for Holmes -- where she notes, the messages are "mostly my words, posted by others" -- shared the trailer with the caption, "I'm always being real."
Fielder rose to prominence for his show "Nathan For You," where dry, deadpan humor carries the day as he attempts to help struggling small businesses with strange solutions.
The actor and director followed that up with "The Rehearsal," a docu-comedy show in which Fielder attempts to "rehearse" life through recreations of real-life scenarios.
Oppenheim is the director of "Primetime," which hits theaters later this month, featuring Robert Pattinson as "To Catch a Predator" host Chris Hansen.
