Feb. 12, 2014— -- American snowboarder Shaun White may have had a disappointing finish in the men's halfpipe at the Winter Olympics Tuesday, failing to scoop up his third consecutive gold medal -- or any medal -- in the event, but at least now he can focus on his music.

The star shredder said after his run that he'll now turn his attention to his rock band, Bad Things.

"I'm supposed to head home," he said of his post-Sochi plans. "I play with a band – we're going back on tour. So I hope to go play music, then focus on next season."

The 27-year-old plays lead guitar for the group, which was signed to Warner Brothers last summer and dropped a self-titled debut album in October, according to Rolling Stone.

"I drop everything for these guys," he told Rolling Stone about his bandmates. "Shoots, practice, anything I need to do. Because it's a very serious thing for us."

While he's animated on the slopes, White blends in with his bandmates, ABC News reported in July. He sometimes sings back-up vocals while letting other band members take the lead.

After Tuesday's event, White posted a pre-taped message to his fans on YouTube, thanking them for their support.

"I love the support of my family," White said separately. "I know that they're going to be there for me tonight."
