Homes for Serial Killers, Sex Addicts and More of Showtime's Edgiest Characters

Sept. 25, 2009 — -- Ever wonder where Hank Moody might conduct his late night (and for that matter, early morning, midday and afternoon) sexcapades if he were flesh and blood, not just a TV character?

Speaking of flesh and blood: Where might blood splatter specialist Dexter Morgan mix up a cocktail and kick back after a hard night of solo serial killing?

And the subject of serial killers naturally segues into Henry VIII -- where might the King of England have dined after beheading his wife du jour?

Rhetorical questions, these are not. A group of interior designers and architects actually sought to answer them when Showtime and Metropolitan Home magazine posed the challenge of turning the indoor and outdoor spaces of a 14,000-square-foot New York City penthouse into homage's to Showtime's hit series, including "Californication," "Dexter," "The Tudors" (all of which begin new seasons this Sunday, Sept. 27) as well as "Nurse Jackie," "Weeds" and "The United States of Tara."

The result? Sumptuous odes to each show that boast such apt furnishings and accessories, they might as well serve as sets.
