March 25, 2014 — -- Shelby Huff got the surprise of a lifetime when Taylor Swift stopped by a New York hospital over the weekend to brighten the young cancer patient's day.

Swift, 24, visited New York Hospital Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and hung out with patients for about five hours, according to Huff's YouTube page.

Swift admitted to Huff that her parents almost named her Shelby, but then it would have been Shelby Swift.

"[Kids would be like] 'She'll Be' Swift and what if I wasn't a fast runner," Swift joked with Huff.

"Shelby was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia in November 2012," the girl's page stated. "She had a Bone Marrow Transplant October 31, 2013. In January 2014 she developed PTLD (Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disease) a form of Lymphoma and Von Willebrand Disease. She is currently at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC receiving a life saving Clinical Trial."

Huff got to spend almost 20 minutes with the singer and they even took a selfie.

The smile on Huff's face was priceless.

"We are still in awe, Taylor Swift is a class act all around, she was so sweet, compassionate, asked US questions, got on skype with my other daughter, stayed in our room and talked with us and was completely down to earth," Huff's Facebook page posted about the visit.
